“Ceremony” is a rare song in one aspect: It is attributed not to one but two groups, Joy Division and New Order. Instead of people, critics and music connoisseurs thinking of the New Oder version as being a cover. The reason is the particular story that joins both groups in their transition into one another and Joy Division’s singer and band leader Ian Curtis’ suicide. This makes hard to find information exclusively about one version without mentioning the other. Ceremony is also a much covered song.
